We use 2 mil. and 3 mil. materials. Thicker is not always better; the opposite is true. The thinner the material, the more expensive it is to produce and buy. The reason: a thinner material can shrink and expand much quicker than thicker material therefore reducing the risk of cracking and separation from the adhesive.
